Lacie 250GB Rugged H-drive
I haven't put it under extensive use but so far it seems to be very rugged and has performed flawlessly backing up a pc laptop. The extra ports are great and give faster options. I would definitely use this as a direct to disk option using a laptop and firewire video camera. It also runs great off of bus power using any of the available ports. I would highly recommend this drive.

No problems
I've had this external drive for almost 2 years, and have taken it around the world in my back-pack, with no problems or issues whatsoever. Not much more you can ask for in a portable drive.

great little drive
This the perfect portable drive for my MacBook Pro. Easy set-up, bus powered, 3 connections including FW 800. What more could you want? I bought 2. One as a bootable back-up for my laptop, the other as extra storage/back-up for my photos. I'm a pro photographer and need back-up, redundant storage for my photos on the road. I'm doing video too, and it works for that too.
